Could we see Scott Pilgrim’s return from the great white noise? If a tweet from series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley is anything to go by… maybe?

The tweet was quite light on information. With it stating that Ubisoft, the developer and publisher of the Scott Pilgrim game, has reached out to him.

Bryan Lee O’Malley, and even the movie’s director Edgar Wright, have both expressed their desire to see the game return to consoles.

We really do love Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

For those who are unaware, Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game was a tie in downloadable title released to coincide with Scott Pilgrim vs The World movie. Both of which are based on O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim graphic novels.

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost been a decade to the day since the release of Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Originally released on 10th October 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and 25th October 2010 for the Xbox 360.

Unfortunately, the title was taken down in 2014. This was down to Ubisoft’s licence to the Scott Pilgrim series expiring. This meant that gamers who missed out on purchasing the game were out of luck.

Could we see Scott Pilgrim's Return?

Could Ubisoft be looking to bring this fan favourite classic back for the game’s 10th anniversary? Unlikely due to them only just reaching out to O’Malley this week.

However, a re-release on current generation consoles would certainly be a popular move by the publisher. With the title likely sell well. Especially after the success of similar titles such as River City Girls and Streets of Rage 4.

Only time will tell, but personally I am excited at the prospect of playing more Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Especially if a re-release included the game’s DLC, and some new bonus characters and stages.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to dig out my Xbox 360 and go kick some evil exes’ butt while I await Scott Pilgrim’s return.

Have your say!
