Sonic the Hedgehog is coming to Nintendo Switch. But do we really need another version of Sonic the Hedgehog? Of course we do!
If you were a gamer in the early 90s, you’ll likely remember all buzz around the original release of Sonic the Hedgehog. SEGA’s answer to Mario, Sonic was everything the plump plumber never was – cool, athletic and a little cocky. Rushing headlong through loops, through underwater labyrinths and into a dystopian metallic fortress.
Fast forward over a quarter of a decade later, and that original title still holds a lot of charm for gamers of all ages – and now it is coming to the Nintendo Switch and kicking off their Sega Ages line up (not to be confused with the Sega Ages for mobiles).
The conversion is being handled by the tried and tested studio M2. Not content with a mere emulation of the original game, M2
All in all, Sonic the Hedgehog coming to the Nintendo Switch is great for fans of the blue blur, as well as those looking for a solid classic platforming throwback to the early 90s.
Sonic the Hedgehog comes to the Nintendo Switch on 20 September 2018 as a digital only title.
